Car Seat Cover
Well the nesting stage has begun (or maybe it is just procrastination I am not sure)! I am 33 weeks pregnant and I just finished my car seat cover. I thought I would put a little tutorial on here so that anyone can make one because it is super easy and really easy to change up.
Supplies:
1 1/8 yard of 2 coordinating fabrics
thread
velcro-4 inches long by 3/4 inches thick, cut in half
and embellishments
The first step is that you are going to cut the main fabric pieces into about a yard. Make sure that you make it the size that you want. I have seen some a lot smaller and bigger depending on what the person wants.
Sew the two pieces wrong sides together leaving a hole so that you can turn it the right way:
Press the seams open and then turn the right way. Then iron the large piece flat. To get the corners looking nice get a pencil or sharp object (not too sharp to poke through fabric) and push out the corners.
Next, topstitch the piece. This gives it a nice clean look.
The next steps will be to make the handles. You do the same thing with the two opposing colors and you cut out a 3 inches by 9 inches. Stitch them together then turn them the right way and top stitch. Then sew onto the large canopy piece. Place it a little more to the back of the canopy since the front should be a little longer. Sew on velcro.
Then add any other embellishments such as ribbon or buttons.
*Keep in mind that even if something is cute you want to be able to wash it.
The finished product:
Hope you enjoyed it!
